The default windows explorer shows only the content of the folder that you’re currently browsing. What happens if you want to view 2 folders or more at the same time? You open 2 windows explorer or more. That can be a hassle when you’re constantly browsing, managing and moving files around so I’ve always used dual panel/windows explorer file manager such as Norton Commander, Total Commander (formerly Windows Commander), xPlorer and FreeCommander.

FreeCommander is a good bet since it’s freeware and it’s what I’m using till these days. You won’t go back to the good old windows explorer once you tested dual pane file managers.
