JDownloader: Updated Automatic File Hosting Downloader
Posted in Internet, Software, Tips, Hacks, Tricks on May 29, 2009
My favorite downloader tool for downloading files from file hosters such as Rapidshare, Megaupload, Mediafire, etc, JDownloader, has just been updated with a much needed GUI revamp. This is how it looks like after installing the newest update.

As you can see, JDownloader now uses a collapsible sidebar layout and thus always have all currently important interactions either in the context (right click) or sidebar menu. There’s also anticaptcha in JDownloader which now comes with OCR methods for over 35 different servies. Version 0.5.917 Final release notes can be found here
JDownloader is simply the best free file hosting downloader I’ve come across. If you haven’t try it yet, you should!
* Seems like that the JDownloader scheduler isn’t working properly at the moment as I can’t seem to find a way to get to the scheduler configuration options. This is quite minor as the main functionalities are all working plus common internet users don’t even know that they can schedule downloads anyway
Update
JDownloader scheduler plugin has been fixed and is fully capable of handling scheduled downloads again.
