Site Indexed in Google Within 5 days
Finally got my site/blog indexed with Google search engine within 5 days. That was considered quite fast judging that there wasn’t any link building activity done yet and there wasn’t any backlinks coming from high traffic sites or anything of that kind. No softwares tools was used whatever. Simply submitting url and registering my sitemaps in yahoo and google manually did the trick for me. I’m sure writing at least a post a day in WordPress and using a plugin to create and submit the sitemaps for yahoo and google helps a lot as well. I know that there are people who can get there site indexed within 24 hours though. Oh well, I’m not that lucky but yet I’ve done it anyhow.
So, how long did it took you to get your site indexed in Google?
How to Search Files to Downloads in Rapidshare
Here is a fast way to search for files to download in rapidhsare. The site rapidshare1 offers a search engine interface to let you key in keywords of the file that you are searching for.
I personally prefer megaupload compared to rapidshare. IMHO, it’s easier to search for files in megaupload using only google itself, while rapidshare doesn’t allow those pages to be indexed by Google.
Magazine Business 2.0 Shutting Down
I have been a crazy reader of Business 2.0 since high school and I have to say it’s one of the best magazine ever published and written so far. But yet, it’s saga has come to an end as their parent company, Time Warner, has made the decision to close the curtains on September. The apparent reasons given was low income from advertisements sales and a slow growth in readership.
What will I do
1. Grab the September issue of Business 2.0
2. Keep in mind that good things and time, sometimes, do come to and end
3. A personal complement to the working team of Business 2.0 team who had made the magazine possbile, and inspired startups all around the world.
Yahoo China Unveiled Golden Finger Advertising Plan
Unlike to Yahoo’s big plan last year to invade the online search advertising market with their “Project Panama” which targets the whole world (well, except China), “Golden Finger” will be only used in China. While there hasn’t been any major annuncement of when Yahoo China will start using “Project Panama”, “Golden Finger” has proven that Yahoo is taking it seriously to counter Google’s and Baidu’s advertising model in China.

Domain Central Registries Raising Domain Prices?
I’ve received the following email from my domain registrar dynadot notifying me about a domain price increase
The central registries for COM, NET, ORG, INFO, and BIZ are raising prices this month. Because our margins are so low, we are forced to raise prices as well.
Starting midnight Oct 15 2007 EST, the price of COM, NET, ORG, INFO, and BIZ domains is going from $7.99 to $8.99. To save money, we recommend you renew your domains at the current price before Oct 15.
We work hard to keep prices low. This is our first price increase since we went into business in 2002.
Best Regards,
Dynadot Staff
I’m a bit sceptical about whether the central registries had really raise the prices on October 2007. Why do I think so?
1. No one likes a price rise right?
2. There wasn’t a link to any offical newspage/sources quoting this is true
One way or another, I have no problem with their domain registration service as they usually get a new domain registered within a day, and I’ve several domains registered through them.
Do you know of any other quality domain name registrars where you can register domain names for a cheaper price?

How to Claim your Blog with Technorati
Technorati is a blog tracking service which crawls and lists some of the web’s most famous blogs. It’s a good idea to add your blog into technorati (technorati call this “claiming” your blog). In wordpress, you are already pinging rpc.pingomatic.com which notifies feedburner and technorati etc. By taking this a step further by claiming your blog in technorati, you expose yourself to a wider audience.
