It was a fine day for the company to held a BBQ lunch, especially as an occassion to get closer interaction with clients, pre-christmas celebration, and making good use of such a beautiful friday to get lazy. A plate of salad, a bun + butter, filled with grilled chicken, sausages and beef was I all I need to keep my stomach happy. Oh yeah, and a couple of beers and red wine too! [Read more…]

Real estate and shares are probably two of the most common asset classes. There’s really no one shot answer for everyone in which one you should choose to invest in. Your financial position and your mission in life is unique, and always different from everyone else. The following list of pros and cons of both asset classes might help you decide in which you should invest in the short term, middle term and long term. [Read more…]

I was watching the news today and the media was reporting about consumer who’s going to buy their christmas and new year’s present with a credit card. Some of the interviewed consumers even said that they aren’t able to afford these presents if there wasn’t a credit card in their pocket. What a shame.
Why do people actually do that? While I do agree with the idea of having a credit card for the convenience of having credit and not briging cash around all the while, that doesn’t give me the power to actually buy something that I won’t be able to pay at the end of the day. [Read more…]

I wonder if anyone else has the same experience that I’m having here. For some reasons, wordpress switches to use the default theme every once in a while, and I will need to go the the administration section to get it to use the custom theme that I wanted. I really can’t find any reason why this is happening. If you can help, it would really be appreciated.
Update: 10th March 2008
I had been able to solve this problem after disabling the mobile wordpress plugin made by Alex King. The only strange thing that I don’t understand is that, I have the same version of mobile wordpress plugin running on another wordpress blog and things are absolutely running fine. Apart from using a different custom theme, the rest were simply the same.
WP-Cache is obviously not the culprit here as I still don’t have this plugin installed on this blog.
The main reason why you should get one:
You get a quick wireless ticket straight from your camera to any one of 17 different social networks or photo-sharing sites like Facebook and Flickr, or your PC or Mac. [Read more…]

Simple and short, this is how you can initialize a variable in VB.NET.
Take the following for example:
Dim dirInfo As System.IO.DirectoryInfo = New System.IO.DirectoryInfo("C:\")
The first part:
Dim dirInfo As System.IO.DirectoryInfo as I would like to call it, “dreams” about a variable dirInfo which belong to a type of System.IO.DirectoryInfo.
The second part:
New System.IO.DirectoryInfo("C:\") actually realizes your dream, it “creates” that variable. It’s only now that your variable dirInfo trully exist.
You can also initialize a variable like so:
Dim dirInfo As System.IO.DirectoryInfo
dirInfo = New System.IO.DirectoryInfo("C:\")
One of the error message that you may get if you haven’t been initializing a variable correctly is “Object reference not set to an instance of an object”. The following code can cause an error, since the variable dirInfo is still a “dream”.
Dim dirInfo As System.IO.DirectoryInfo
As in life, good things starts with a dream, and you have to do something to it, before it can be realized.
