As a web developer, you definately find times when you found a cool webpage and wonder how they did it. You wonder if there’s a tool that can show you in real-time what is happening or let you access the properties, attributes, HTML, CSS, DOM, JS of a page. Bear in mind that I’m not talking about what happens in the backend like server-side scripting language (Perl, PHP, ASP, CFM and JSP) and database access but more into the looks and user interaction (which i would refer to as the frontend). WordPress Top CMS in Technorati Top 100
It ain’t a surprise when I read this today. According to Most Popular CMS in Technorati’s Top 100, you might not notice but wordpress is commanding a 34 percent of the marketshare in Technorati’s top 100.
Although some people will argue that wordpress is not a true CMS (content management system) like other full fledge flabors such as Joomla and Drupal, I personally think that whatever gets the job done in a good and efficient way is something good to stick with. After using wordpress for almost 2 years now, I’m still sticking to it.
Mortgage Loans, Banks, and Mortgage Brokers
I think it’s simply common sense to assume that mortgage brokers earns a fair share from banks or other lenders to recommend their client with a mortgage loan. But how much?
Brokers typically receive up-front commissions of around 0.65 per cent of the entire loan amount, followed by a so-called “trail” commission of 0.20 per cent of the loan amount every year that the loan is in force. Some banks, such as NAB, even raise the trail commission to 0.35 per cent from the fourth year onwards to try to persuade brokers not to switch the customer to a better deal from another bank. Novak Djokovic Won First Grand Slam Title
Novak Djokovic has done it. He’s the first Serbian and the youngest (age 20) to win a grand slam title. Novak Djokovic won the Australian Open 2008 finals against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (age 22) of France with 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6(7-2). [Read more…]
Adsense Notifier Not Working Anymore?
So, it seems that one of my favorite Firefox Addon, Adsense Notifier, which allows you to display your Adsense earnings on the firefox statusbar has stopped working correctly.
Although it still gathers how many impressions are served, the rest such as Clicks, CTR, CPM, Earnings and RPC are all showing 0. It has been going on for almost a week since I started noticing about this problem, and some people are saying that it has not been working for a month now. [Read more…]
Maria Sharapova Wins Third Grand Slam Title
No surprises. As I’ve said previously, Maria will win the Australian Open 2008 against her opponent Ana Ivanovic, and she did. In a match that lasted 91 minute, Maria blew Ana away with straight sets win 7-5, 6-3. [Read more…]
Popular Web and Social Sites Backend
A database server is basically a central location where you host your database files. There is no question that in any web application, social websites or web 2.0 sites or whatever, that the database server is like the heart and you can’t live without it. And in recent years, thanks to open source, lots of companies and social sites has chose to stick with MySQL for their database. I think the reason is obvious.
1. Cost and Scalability
2. Support
3. Stability

Novak Djokovic Fights Back
Somone needs to get the job done no matter how hard it is. If the rising Serbian Janko Tipsarevic got close to it, then maybe another Serbian, Novak Djokovic can. And he did. As mighty as Roger Federer may be, he’s finally back to earth once more after losing to Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open 2008 semi finals in straight sets 7-5 6-3 7-6 (7-5). [Read more…]
Australian Open 2008: Tsonga Defeats Rafal Nadal
Tsonga, what Tsonga?
If you don’t know him yet, he’s the guy who had defeated the world’s number 2 Rafal Nadal in the Australian Open 2008 with an emphatic 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 win. What is going on here? It was so obvious that Nadal’s hits and returns look so slow and short compared to Tsonga’s which made him paid the price by running and tumbling all over to court. Good drives, good volleys, good drops, good interception, anticipation and insticts, Tsonga was really having a great night. I bet Nadal will be SO surprised why did he even loss to this frenchman here. [Read more…]
Maria Sharapova Versus Ana Ivanovic
So, it’s going to be Maria Sharapova against Ana Ivanovic in the Austrlian Open 2008 final.
Maria Sharapova went trough into the finals pretty easily by beating Jelena Jankovic 6-1, 6-3.
Ana Jankovic cruise through a bumpy journey, but was into the finals after defeating Slovakia’s Daniela Hantuchova 0-6, 6-3, 6-4. It was really a close match which I think Daniela was the better player who just happened to miss a couple of important points in the important moments. [Read more…]
