OK, so Australia has been getting lots of migrants coming into the country due to skills shortage and a big part thanks to the mining plus oil and gas boom. It looks like the economy is turning for the better and it was on several headlines that BHP, Rio Tinto plus other EPC firms who are concerned about skills shortage and saying government should be more lenient in approving new 457 visas. And then today, findings and some people are saying that migrants are eating up the locals’ piece of the pie and that the government should be more protective in ensuring that younger Australians generations can find their standing ground.
It’s still like the same new old story back in 2007. The business sectors and owners seem to love the idea of 457 visas workers, and then there are those who think that the program do more harm than good to the Australian economy.
So what’s your take about this topic? Survival of the fittest yet again?
