No more surprises. Roger Federer won his fourth round match in straight sets in the 2008 Australian open against Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic (seeded 13) with 6-4, 7-6 (9-7), 6-3. Roger will meet the James Blake of US in their quarter finals.
Meanwhile, Leyton Hewitt, carrying the hopes of Australian to book a seat in the final rounds didn’t seem to make it. He lost to Novak Djokovic at straight set. Both men shown close competition in the first set, with Novak winning the first set 7-6 eventaully.
