An airasia advertisement grabbed from doubleclick
Now here’s a reason why you will probably find more Australians, Britons, New Zealanders, Japs and Koreans in Kuala Lumpur in the coming months. Airasia is finally going to fly direct from Perth, Australia to Kuala Lumpur 6 times per week at a one way cost of AUSD$99!
However, Airasia is still currently waiting for government approvals for the flight (as can be seen under the advertisement). As you will find out if you go to airasia.com, you still can’t make any bookings departing from Perth yet.
Update:The WA government has approve the deal on 15 May 2008, and flights are now available for booking. Just note that since the flight service will only start on November 2, you can’t make any bookings earlier than that. Book online at airasia
So what?
Holy Moly, this is simply one great deal and savings for everyone! Generally, currency exchange works well for Australians who decided to pay Asia a visit. Just look at Bali, it’s like another Australian community there. Just imagine that you can spend the weekend/holiday shopping in one of the most beautiful capital cities in the world (shameless promotion since I’m a Malaysian too).
My colleagues in Perth are not shy to praise how good it is to visit KL, due to the fact that it’s so nice for shopping and tons of variety of good food. Another thing is, if you visit KL, don’t forget to go up to Penang (food heaven seriously), and people usually won’t forget to pick up some pirated CDs, DVDs, PS3, XBox360, Wii Games and the list goes on 🙂
Now, I can go back to Malaysia more often at a lower price!
