Amazon associate’s referral program did pretty well for me this year. For starters the payment fee structure is quite confusing but there is help and Amazon explained that clearly in their help section for both US and UK (at least that’s where I promote their offers). Seems to me that you have not much reasons to use the classic fee structure in US but in the UK, you might want to consider using the classic since you will get capped at £7.00 per Electronics Product and £10.00 per Video Game Product if you were to use the performance fee plan.
If only amazon have a 30/45/60 day cookie rather than the 24 hour cookie, that would be so much better from a affiliate marketer’s point of view. But let’s be honest, that just won’t happen

The Classic plan makes absolutely no sense… I’m not sure why they even offer it in the U.S.
What irritates me is that I had sold 6 products this months, meaning I’d make 4% commission. I sold 2 more products yesterday, 12/31, putting me in the 6% commission bracket… or so I thought.
Turns out that even though I referred 8 products in December, I only get credit for 6, because 2 will SHIP in the month of January, even though they were referred in December… shitty.
also, I just found out that it takes 60 days to get paid?! They sure take their sweet time making payments, while only giving us 24 hours to make a sale. I’m certainly slightly annoyed with the Amazon Affiliate program, to say the least…

I too was wondering whats even the point of classic fee structures. I figured that “performance” structures had some kind of catch to it, like they charged you a certain amount every month, so it only made sense to use it if you had a high referral amount… but nope, classic is just 4.0%, and performance can go up to 8.5% with no catch to it!
