Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Windows Vista is an update to Windows Vista. It provides customer and partner feedback-driven fixes into a single service pack, minimizing deployment and testing complexity. In addition to all previously released updates since SP1, SP2 supports new types of hardware, and adds support for several emerging standards.

Note that SP2 Standalone is an update for computers that have Windows Vista SP1 installed. You will need to be running Vista SP1 before it can be upgraded to SP2. If you aren’t, you need to upgrade your computer to Vista SP1 before upgrading to SP2.
