There was so much buzz about this movie and after watching it, all I can say is that it’s overrated. But why is it so popular? To me, it was more of a marketing success and the story of how a first time director with no formal film training made a horror movie with 15K and made it one of the most profitable movie in history promoted through mostly facebook and twitter.
If you fancy this kind of horror/scary movies, I would recommend the japanese made Ju-On which I personally think it’s one of the best stories in its category. It’s so good that Americans needed one of their own in English which they named it “The Grudge”.
As for Paranormal Activity, don’t get too excited when buying your tickets cause you’ll probably fall asleep in the middle of the movie. 2 of my mates did!
