The bells has been ringing for quite some time now waiting for WordPress 2.5 to be released. Matt brought some good news this time with a new video/screencast showing some cool new features and presentation interface for the admin section (or commonly known as the Dashboard) and a release cadidate 2 for the upcoming WordPress 2.5.
Matt did pointed out that:
Finally with regards to theme and plugin compatibility, we’ve had no reports of any broken themes in this upgrade, which makes sense because we didn’t really change anything core about themes, just added new optional capabilities like Gravatars. Plugins that work with the admin may require updating to take advantage of the new, cleaner UI in WordPress 2.5.
That’s probably because not much people have been testing it yet. But judging by the fact that not much database schema changes for wordpress 2.3 to 2.5 has been done, I’m hopeful *most* plugins and themes should still work nicely with the new version.
Just bring it on guys. I can’t wait to make use of the built in gallery 🙂
