Youtube is now officially implementing and earning affiliate revenue from AmazonMP3 and ITunes. Don’t be surprise if you see some extra buttons promoting musics sold from Amazon and ITunes.
As announced on the Google Blog
We’re taking our first steps to providing YouTube users with this kind of instant gratification, by adding “click-to-buy” links to the watch pages of thousands of YouTube partner videos. Click-to-buy links are non-obtrusive retail links, placed on the watch page beneath the video with the other community features.
This sounds like a win-win-win situation for consumers, music labels and youtube. It has been way too long that YouTube has been able to come up with a profitable model (hey, they tried adsense on their site and I hardly clicked any before) but this sounds like sounds more likely to get some green for Google.
