Oracle wins unconditional EU approval for Sun buy and will reshape the high-tech landscape, with Oracle, the world’s No. 2 business software maker, moving into the hardware business. Sun is the top player in the $17 billion high-end computer-server market.
I’m not an Oracle fanboy so let’s keep this simple. Sun has developed quite a few noteworthy applications and here are some that I personally use. If they can be taken care of and given the freedom to continue to improve and spread their wings and kept out of Oracle’s range of bloatware, that would be great.

Ubuntu: How To Install Filezilla FTP Client
In Windows, I use the popular Filezilla FTP Client to upload stuffs onto my web host while doing web development. And while using my laptop which is running on Ubuntu, I notice that there isn’t a built-in FTP client with GUI interface but fortunately Filezilla can be installed on Ubuntu quite easily and here’s how.
Installing Filezilla FTP Client In Ubuntu
Open a terminal window and type sudo aptitude install filezilla
That’s it!
FileZilla is an FTP program for file uploading and downloading to and from your FTP site, server, or host. The program lets you transfer files and navigate among folders, Web sites, and your computer. This software enables you to perform multiple file transfers simultaneously.
Netbeans Includes Zend Framework Support
After Symphony, the great Netbeans PHP editors can now support another popular php framework, zend framework. You gotta get the latest build to try that out though but stable support should be implemented by 6.9. Zend framework got the heads-up even though the CakePHP framework has more votes than Zend’s.
